[Art] - Alpha Beta postcard box set

Postby Catherine » Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:45 pm

I've just spotted on Twitter that there is a special edition boxed set of postcards with all the Alpha Beta designs :great: I've ordered a set, couldn't help myself :^^:

http://shop.politecards.com/products/magne

It looks like a nice set, I am so pleased! Especially since there was no catalogue produced (that I know of anyway). May even frame the cards if they look nice enough, since I couldn't afford a real edition of the prints.

Thanks for the heads up -that's a nice set, and quite reasonably priced. Have just dropped heavy heavy hints to hubby that this would be a perfect birthday pressie for me - LOL!

I'm wondering if they'll be good to frame...they are about 5.5 inches square, but there are 30 of them so I can't see finding 30 identical frames for them or where to put all of them in my house LOL.

May have to choose a few favorites to frame and keep the rest in the box with the quote paper. Has anyone else thought about what they'll do with the cards? Could be nice to keep them all together in the box of course but I would want people to see them in my home somehow :^^:

Catherine, maybe instead of framing them seperatly would be better to put all or most of them into one frame divided with passpartoue or like a collage? And even to make of them words or quotes?

Just a thought

Oh sure, I thought of that too! :^^:

So if you were to put them in one frame, with a specially cut mat, it would be...let's see...five rows of six cards, or three rows of ten cards.

A framed set with five rows of six cards would be...

5.5 + 1 inch on all sides for mat = 7.5 inches square --> means that one collage frame would measure something like 45 inches wide x 37.5 inches tall.

(A framed set with three rows of ten cards would be...75 inches wide by 22.5 inches tall  )

OK, so if I did frame them all with five rows of six cards, I'd have to get rid of our TV set in the living room

Mine arrived Saturday and I did a little bit of shuffling crossword style - the best arrangement I could come up with, that used the most cards, I find most attractive, was to spell out:

"A bit like you hoped!" am also contemplating using the "oe" or "o with teh slash through" in there somewhere as it says "everything" prominently across it so it would be "A bit like everything you hoped!"

Which seems quite a Magneish kind of statement somehow
